SARS-CoV-2 Antibody test
Our laboratory performs the antibody screening test of the antibodies IgG and IgM against the SARS-CoV2.
Method: CLIA – ABBOTT
Sample: Blood Serum
Results: 2 to 3 hours
In an acute SARS-CoV2 infection, the antibodies IgG, IgM are simultaneously increasing in the blood within a period of 2-3 weeks after the onset of the symptoms.
In the chronic phase the antibodies IgM are zeroed while the IgG antibodies remain positive for a period of time which is, for the time being, unknown to us.
So, by estimating IgG and IgM antibodies’ titers, we can distinguish the acute phase of the infection from its chronic phase (immunity).
All samples collected in our laboratory are treated as potentially infectious and therefore, throughout the collection, packaging, storage and transport procedures, all the necessary protective and preventive measures are applied. The professionals who are involved in the sample management process apply the appropriate personal protective equipment.
The tests are strictly performed only after telephone appointments: Contact Information: 26510-70800 and 26510-40584
The results could also be sent by e-mail so that the examinee can avoid the inconvenience of a second visit.
