From its foundation, Aimodiagnosi Ioanninon faithfully upholds its anthropocentric character and has decided to become the link – as an official partner – between the nonprofit organization Volunteer Bone Marrow Donor Bank “ORAMA ELPIDAS” and our town.
Our main objective is to motivate as many residents of Ioannina as possible in order to make this great project work.
In our lab, we inform the people around the voluntary bone marrow donation issue and we take oropharyngeal swab samples from the new volunteer donors so as to join the Bone Marrow Donor Bank, a bank whose operation came to meet the needs of the children and the adults who need or will need hematopoietic cell transplantation. For that reason, the Bone Marrow Donor Bank is our bank and we need to make sure that it remains full of hope for whoever needs it, whenever he/she needs it.
For every citizen of Ioannina, the registration process becomes very simple because we are…..next door whenever he/she decides, with the following simple steps:
- He/She should visit one of our “Aimodiagnosi” laboratories (28th Oktovriou 20 or Dompoli 25) as long as he/she is 18-45 years old and healthy.
- He/She should fill out a registration form and a brief medical history.
- He/She should give mouth swab (saliva).
